Wiper Blade Size Guide
Why driver and passenger blade sizes may differ, and how to confirm the right pair for your vehicle.
Why the two sides differ
Vehicle designers choose blade lengths that cover the required viewing area without the blades colliding or striking the windscreen edge. The driver blade is often longer, but this is not a universal rule.
Use reliable compatibility information
Check the owner’s manual, a current manufacturer or supplier compatibility catalogue, or the sizes already installed when they are known to be correct. Measure from end to end along the blade, not the metal arm.
Avoid forcing a larger blade
A longer blade may hit trim, overlap the other blade, lift at the edge, or overload the mechanism. A shorter blade reduces the cleared area. Match both size and connector.
Use this as guidance, not a diagnosis.
Vehicle symptoms can have several causes. If safety, steering, braking, visibility, warning lights, leaking fluids, or unusual behaviour concerns you, reduce driving and arrange a qualified inspection.
