How to Check and Maintain Your Suspension
Common changes in ride, noise, tyre wear, and steering that can help you decide when to request a professional inspection.
Notice changes during normal driving
Pay attention to new knocks over bumps, repeated bouncing, steering vibration, pulling, or a change in how the vehicle settles during braking. Record the road speed and conditions rather than trying to diagnose the part yourself.
Read the tyres
Uneven or rapid tyre wear can point to pressure, alignment, suspension, or driving-condition issues. Keep pressures correct, rotate tyres when the manufacturer recommends it, and request alignment and suspension checks when wear patterns appear.
Protect the system
Slow down for potholes and speed ramps, avoid overloading the vehicle, and have alignment checked after a strong impact or when steering behaviour changes. Replace parts only after a qualified inspection identifies the cause.
Use this as guidance, not a diagnosis.
Vehicle symptoms can have several causes. If safety, steering, braking, visibility, warning lights, leaking fluids, or unusual behaviour concerns you, reduce driving and arrange a qualified inspection.
